When we use internet, we try to get things more organized and would be even better if get all of these under one umbrella. This reduces our work and gives easy access to files we need to work on. Seems Google is working hard on this, thus added new formats to Google Docs to stay updated and be a leader in the market.

The new formats added are:

  • Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
  • Apple Pages (.PAGES)
  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
  • Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
  • Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
  • Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
  • PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
  • TrueType (.TTF)
  • XML Paper Specification (.XPS)

So when you get emails with these attachment formats (especially .PSD, .PAGES, .DXF etc), from now on you don’t have to download and open it in another software but can view it in Google Docs.

Note: Google Docs works faster and better with Google Chrome.
